An inventory was taken using the most current data from the FCC, FAA, and PETS. Each of the suspected locations were field verified, and if located, a G.P.S. point was taken using a Trimble ProXR and a Laser -Atlanta laser range finder. Two photos were also taken of the structure, a photo of the base, and a photo of the tower body. Attribute data was also taken when applicable, such as the Antenna Structure Registration Number used by the FCC and a link to additional FCC attribute data. 

As of 2007, data updates to tower structures have been done by way of aerial imagery or site plan as newly constructed towers have been identified. Identification method derives from issued building permits. All Antenna Registry Numbers and tower heights are from the FCC website. Tower heights were converted from meters to feet and include appurtenances. Neither G.P.S. or photos are being taken at site at this time. Placement of tower geometry is done using aerial imagery. Tower type (lattice, monopole, etc) has been determined using a combination of aerial imagery (various years) and Google "Street View".

As of 2010 the updates have made use of the 2007 Pictometry data. This data has given us the opportunity to determine the tower heights of all tower structures and as well verify what type of tower they are (lattice, monopole, etc).

1. Although an extensive effort was taken to locate every Antenna Structure within Leon County, we cannot guarantee that all were captured.
2. This data set is not limited to a specific type of antenna, rather it is intended to capture the structure that may house several types of antennae, including, but not limited to: Cellular, Microwave, and two-way communications.
3. The location information for these structures was intended to be more accurate than the original information provided, but we cannot guarantee these locations to be 100% accurate.
