The Downtown District Community Redevelopment Area (Downtown CRA) was created by the City of Tallahassee in 2002. The Downtown CRA is an area the City Commission determined exhibits conditions of blight as defined in Chapter 186, Part III, Florida Statutes. The boundaries were established through a legal survey based on the blight conditions described in the Finding of Necessity for Redevelopment, Tallahassee Downtown Area, August 2002. The creation of the Downtown CRA was a part of City Resolution 02-R-0043, passed by the City Commission in September 2002. Boundary changes to this area would require City Commission and County Commission approval.
