The Urban Jobs Tax Credit Program is a State of Florida program designed to provide jobs tax credits for businesses located in areas that are experiencing high levels of crime. The boundaries of the Tallahassee Urban Jobs Tax Credit Program Area were established according to State of Florida guidelines, using police reporting areas from the Tallahassee Police Department. The Tallahassee Urban Jobs Tax Credit Program Area was established by the City of Tallahassee in April 1998, through the passage of City Resolution 98-R-0020. The boundaries of this tax credit area will remain in effect until the Florida Legislature either modifies the requirements for establishing such areas, or until the program sunsets.
